State Superintendent for Public Instruction candidate Jill Underly wants to “end voucher expansion” for Wisconsin kids who don’t have the financial means to attend private school. Yet the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel revealed that Jill Underly paid to send her kids to private school instead of her local low-performing school district.
[Madison, WI] – The Republican Party of Wisconsin has filed a complaint against Superintendent for Public Instruction Candidate Jill Underly with the Wisconsin Elections Commission asking the commission to investigate her illegal conduct. The complaint calls on WEC to commence an immediate investigation into Underly’s illegal use of Pecatonica School District resources to build her campaign contact list on state time.
This week the Assembly gave final approval to the Truth in Spending Act, SB 183, which provides legislative oversight for the allocation of federal COVID dollars. The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 will provide the state of Wisconsin with $5.7 billion; $3.2 billion of the total amount will go directly to state government. Under current law, the governor would have sole discretion of spending the stimulus money.
Wisconsin Republicans have been hard at work coming up with legislation and legal actions to ensure the integrity of our elections.
It is important that we continue to have a presence in our elections and at our polling locations.
I published an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal Monday expanding on the manufactured controversy surrounding recent comments regarding the Jan. 6 protests. As I have said many times, "This isn't about race. It's about riots." I condemn both the violence and chaos of Jan. 6 and the riots of last summer. I support anyone and everyone's right to peacefully protest.
Leftists want to pretend last summer's political violence never happened.
The Wisconsin State Assembly convened twice this week. As I mentioned last week, the main focus of Tuesday's session was the health and well-being of Wisconsinites.
In addition, we took a step to guarantee people with pre-existing medical conditions are covered by health insurance. This is a state-level protection that will protect Wisconsinites if changes happen to the federal law.
The La Crosse School District has voted to remove the resource officers from La Crosse Schools. These are the people who teach the DARE drug prevention programs. Call your friends and tell them to cast a vote for Rob Abraham. You can vote for up to three people, but those additional votes are votes against Rob. Vote only for Rob Abraham!
The Wisconsin State Assembly will convene several times in March, twice next week on Tuesday, March 16 and Wednesday, March 17. Our main focus on the first session day is the health and well-being of Wisconsinites. Some of the bills may sound familiar as the Assembly approved many of them at the end of the last biennial session, which ended abruptly due to the pandemic.
The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution very clearly states,
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
In the Supreme Court decision Heller versus D.C. the justices re-affirmed the point of the Second Amendment is that all individuals have the personal right to keep and bear arms.
There is no question that a global pandemic has had deep impacts on our local workers. Many working people in our community are just trying to survive while their jobs are on hold or hours are drastically cut due to social distancing mandates. Now the Democrats led by Governor Evers want to add insult to injury by allowing sales taxes to go up even more.

Everyone in Congress must take an oath of office that includes a promise to uphold the Constitution of the United States. With his ‘yea’ vote on H.R. 1 Ron Kind has violated that oath by supporting legislation that is a direct violation of the constitution where it clearly gives states the authority to conduct elections. Not the federal government. This legislation pretends that Congress has the authority to force states to conduct elections in a manner that congressmen want. They DO NOT have that authority.
