The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) recently secured a significant win in a legal battle against multiple policies of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) related to the parental choice program applications. The court agreed with WILL's argument that DPI's policies did not align with the mandated statutory rulemaking procedures, rendering them invalid.

On Tuesday, the Assembly passed four bills that would expand tax credits for married filers, filers with children, create an exception for retirement income, and significantly expand the second tax bracket (those earning between $19,000-$150,000).

It would apply to 54% of all tax filers and provide an average of a 15% decrease.

Here's the breakdown of the average tax cut per filer for each of the bills:

When Tragedy Strikes within the Family

A long-term grassroots conservative leader from the Coulee Region recently shared that his younger sister in Florida experienced a tragic house fire. While, thankfully, she is OK, she did lose everything! She was at home when it happened, heard a very loud noise, went outside to investigate and discovered that the side of her house was on fire. She went back through the house, grabbed her phone, went outside to safety and called 911. The rest is history!

After speaking with his sister Betsy, John Christy has learned a little about what "losing everything" means:

The Middle

There are a lot of discussions about the growing chasm between the Right and the Left in the United States. This chasm is often a playground for hyperbole on both sides, and it leaves many Americans stuck in the middle. Ironically, for those running for office, the voters in the middle ground are the ones who decide elections, and far too often these voters are disregarded until the general election. Primaries are about partisan politics, the grassroots and parties deciding who their candidates will be. General elections require the rest of the voters.

February 7th through the 14th is designated as National Marriage Week USA. This is a great time for families and churches in particular to rehearse God’s teaching on marriage and to champion this divinely ordained institution that is good for all people, at all times, in all places.

God’s institution of marriage, designed for mankind’s good and God’s glory, comes with unparalleled blessings—blessings that God in His unfathomable goodness allows to extend to those who do not believe in Him and even to those who blaspheme Him. That’s God’s common grace.

Impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas

We are experiencing the worst border crisis in history under President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas. The disregard for the safety and security of the United States, as well as the refusal to uphold the rule of law, is appalling. With over 7 million illegal crossings at the southern border and 1.7 million gotaways evading U.S. Border Patrol since the Biden administration took office, Secretary Mayorkas has willfully and systemically refused to comply with federal immigration laws and has breached the public trust by violating his oath of duty to control and guard the border.

Negative Impact of Illegal Immigration on our Environment

While Telegram readers know the effects of illegal immigration on our communities, few people know about the damage and destruction illegal immigration has on our public lands.

The negative impact illegal immigration has on our environment is staggering, with each illegal immigrant discarding between 6 to 8 pounds of trash as they illegally cross our border.

As Chairman of the Federal Lands Subcommittee, I traveled to Arizona for a field hearing and border tour to see the environmental degradation firsthand.
