On Monday, Attorney General Josh Kaul (D) filed a motion to speed up a decision in his challenge against Wisconsin's pre-Roe abortion ban. The case, which is now before Dane County Circuit Judge Diane Schlipper, is expected to reach the state's high court.

Kaul's latest motion asks Schlipper to declare, without further oral arguments, that the law is unenforceable as applied to abortion. Earlier, Schlipper ruled the law applied to what she called “feticide,” not abortion, and determined the case should continue and not be dismissed as defendants had asked.

This is another attempt to take advantage of the new liberal majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. If the Dane County Judge agrees to speed the case up, then it will likely move more quickly to the high court. Unfortunately, pro-aborts are finding ways to skirt pro-life laws across the country. Live Action reports that abortion organizations, businesses, and funding groups are engaging in what has been termed "abortion trafficking," openly encouraging underage children to travel across state borders to access abortion services.

Meanwhile, according to the Washington Post, a group called Aid Access has reportedly facilitated an abortion pipeline and sent around "3,500 doses" of abortion drugs to states with pro-life regulations since mid-June.

Aid Access told the Washington Post that the organization has “revamped its operation to let doctors in Democratic-led states with ‘shield laws’ … mail abortion pills to states where the medication is banned.” The group also said they plan to scale in order to provide more women in pro-life states with the abortion pill.

Meanwhile, Ohio voters said no on Tuesday to a constitutional amendment that would require a 60% vote to amend their state constitution. Currently, the required percentage is 50%+1. The battle was much more about abortion than about the actual amendment, because abortion advocates plan to put a statewide referendum that would legalize abortion on the ballot this November. Reaching 60% to pass that referendum would have been very challenging, but supporters of abortion are quite sure they can reach the current required percentage. (BTW, Wisconsin's requirement for amending the state constitution once it goes to the people for a vote is a simple majority.)

This is why fostering a culture of life is so important. Pro-life laws are vital, and they certainly save lives, but ultimately only a culture that cares deeply for life at every stage will eradicate abortion!
