The National Republican Congressional Committee is airing a hybrid ad with U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden that knocks President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and backs the former Navy SEAL.

An NRCC spokesperson didn’t immediately respond to a request for more details about the spot. AdImpact hadn’t yet collected information on how much was being spent on the ad as of late Thursday.

Hybrid spots allow groups such as the NRCC to get the lower candidate rate for an ad. But those spots must promote the party overall as well as a candidate.

“Leave the gate open, and it’s chaos,” a narrator says as goats run out of a pen. “Biden and Kamala opened America’s gate, abandoned the border patrol. In came over 8 million unvetted illegals and a fentanyl crisis endangering families.”

The ad then shows Van Orden with his grandkids, saying “after spending 26 years as a Navy SEAL, I’ll do anything to protect your grandchildren and mine. I know how to defend this country, so let’s secure the border and save America.”

The first ad Van Orden aired also features him with goats as he says Washington is full of “loudmouthed, preening politicians.”
