'On the Job' at the Humane Society
For my latest "On the Job" visit, I had the pleasure of working a shift at the South Wood County Humane Society in Wisconsin Rapids.
Since I was first elected to the Wisconsin Senate in 2016, I have regularly spent a day "On the Job" with local employers to get a better understanding of their operations and to highlight the employment opportunities that are available in our area. It also allows me to see how the decisions we make in Madison impact our local communities.
During my stop at the South Wood County Humane Society, I cleaned litter boxes, did laundry, washed dog kennels, fed the animals and worked the front desk. Not surprisingly, my favorite task was taking dogs for walks.
I would like to thank Tim Kriz, president of the South Wood County Humane Society, and the staff for welcoming me and helping me learn more about what they do on a day-to-day basis. It was a very rewarding experience.
My communications director is currently putting together video footage of my time at the Humane Society. I will be happy to share the finished product with all of you as soon as it is ready. So, please be on the lookout over the next few weeks.
