Taxes should drop, but government spends too much money, they cave to every do gooder request for a new program, and once they get a new program, it never ends. I like to tell this story. Close to 50 years ago, when I got out of the Navy, I was visiting my sister who had just graduated from college, with a degree in social work, she got a job working for Monroe County. She was broke, but she told me she was going to buy a new car, and I told her not to, because her job was a one year position and she would not have a job in a year to make the payments. She said "Oh, don't worry, they told her that these one year jobs always get renewed"...… Well she worked there for 20 years. Government is like cancer, it is very hard to stop.
