I voted yes, here’s why
Last week, after months of tough negotiations with my Republican colleagues and President Trump, I cast my vote for the One Big Beautiful Bill. Here’s why:
- It stops a $4 TRILLION tax hike on working families.
- It gives Border Patrol and ICE the resources they need to clean up Joe Biden’s mess.
- It avoids a default on our debt and takes real action to address DC’s reckless spending.
The bill is a step forward in the right direction, but we’re not done yet. We must proceed with a full-scale, line-by-line review of every federal program and bloated bureaucracy that roots out the waste, fully defunds the Deep State, and returns our government to the American people.

Ron Johnson - Conscience of the Senate
"The 70 year old Wiscosninite is the Conscience of the Senate" was the subheadline on a recent front page article (The Reality News, June 2025). I have to agree.
And, thanks Senator for your clear, concise explanation as well as all your efforts -- they are appreciated.
Thanks Ron!
It was painful for Ron to vote Yes, but he has remarkable wisdom and worked this budget as hard as he could to improve the waste, and in the end, he got the best deal he could. Ron Johnson is an American Hero who has learned we can't always get what we want, but we got some of it, and that is a great first step.
