Biden’s Inflation Crisis Continues

In a recent report from the Joint Economic Committee, it was found that the average Wisconsin household is paying $952 more per month for the same goods and services compared to January 2021. Cumulatively, the average Wisconsin household has spent $22,932 more due to inflation since January 2021. Since President Biden took office, inflation has risen by nearly 20%, forcing Americans across the nation to spend over tens of thousands more annually than they did just three years ago.

Make no mistake: This is a direct result of the Biden administration’s failed economic policies, and with no clear end in sight, it’s understandable that many folks are concerned about how they will continue to afford these inflated prices on everyday necessities.

When compared to January 2021, President Biden’s economic policies have forced Wisconsinites to spend more while getting less. The average Wisconsin household spends:

  • $144 more on food per month
  • $3,463 more spent cumulatively since 2021
  • $186 more on shelter per month
  • $3,456 more spent cumulatively since 2021
  • $113 more on energy per month
  • $3,986 more spent cumulatively since 2021
  • $292 more on transportation per month
  • $8,671 more spent cumulatively since 2021

We must restore fiscal responsibility in Washington and put an end to the careless spending habits of the Biden Administration. I remain focused on working with my Republican colleagues in the House to rein in this out-of-control spending by the Biden Administration, bring down inflation, and restore hardworking Americans’ purchasing power.

How about when your grandchildren can't afford to attend college, because they are paying high interest rates on someone else's College tuition?
