Securing the Southern Border

Open border policies have turned every state across America into a border state – including Wisconsin. That’s why I’m proud to have supported the Secure the Border Act of 2023 that will combat illegal immigration and the transport of illicit substances like fentanyl.

Last year, Wisconsin experienced over 1,400 deaths from fentanyl. In FY 2023 alone, CBP has seized over 14,000 pounds of fentanyl coming across the Southwest border—enough to kill over 3.1 billion people.

This bill will:

  • Increase the number of Border Patrol agents and provide bonus pay
  • Require transparency regarding illegal crossings from the Department of Homeland Security
  • Strengthen current law to protect unaccompanied children from human trafficking
  • Strengthen and streamline the asylum process

Border security is national security. I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues to secure our southern border and keep Americans safe.

If we had a clue in America we would know that this situation is far worse than we know. I would recommend a moratorium on all immigration for 5 years. We need to catch our breath and stop this political correctness that will haunt us all and diminish our standard of living and culture in America.
