Before I was sworn into Congress, the House was operating under years of out-of-control Democrat spending and America-last legislation that made it more difficult for every family to get by. With a new Republican majority elected to serve in 2023, we have been working diligently to restore the American dream by passing legislation that lowers inflation and energy costs, enhances our border security and national security, and simply makes it easier for hardworking Americans to succeed.

Below you will find just a few pieces of legislation that I have supported throughout my time in Congress to make our nation stronger, safer, and more prosperous:

H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act

I fought back against the Biden-Harris Administration's war on American energy by voting to pass the Lower Energy Costs Act to cut burdensome red tape and boost energy production here at home, instead of relying on hostile foreign dictators that put our energy security at risk. H.R. 1 also lowers costs for families who are struggling to fill up a grocery cart and their gas tank on the same day.

H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act

The House Republican conference worked together to build the most comprehensive border security bill in history, H.R. 2 – the Secure the Border Act. This bill addresses the worst border crisis in history that has led to over 10 million illegal aliens encountered at our borders and more than 2 million gotaways under President Biden and “Border Czar” V.P. Harris’ open border policies. H.R. 2 increases the number of border patrol agents, resumes construction of the border wall, ends catch-and-release, reinstates ‘Remain in Mexico’, cracks down on the flow of fentanyl, and keeps our communities safe.

Supporting Our Farmers

As the first Wisconsin Representative to serve on the House Agriculture Committee in over a decade, I’m committed to providing for our farmers and agricultural producers. In working with these stakeholders, I secured many incredible wins for our agriculture industry in the committee’s bipartisan 2024 Farm Bill like the Healthy H2O Act, the Hot Foods Study, the Ag Vets Act, maintaining the DBII, and more. Unfortunately, our Senate counterparts are holding up movement on the bill, but I’m continuously working to get the farm bill on the floor for a vote, so our farmers have the resources they need to keep America fed and fueled.

Taking on the Chinese Communist Party

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) poses a generational threat to America, and dealing with it requires working across committee jurisdictions to develop a comprehensive approach. As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, I am particularly concerned with the CCP’s purchasing of U.S. farmlands, which hurts our hardworking farmers and threatens our food security. That’s why I voted in favor H.R. 9456 – the Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act, to prevent foreign adversaries from gaining control of our American farmland, H.R. 1398 – the Protect America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act, to defend American research and intellectual property, and H.R. 8333 – the BIOSECURE Act, to kick the CCP out of our biotechnology supply chains.

Investing in the Third District

Our communities in southwest and central Wisconsin get forgotten by the elites because we are just flyover country to them. I’m working to change that. In passing H.R.4366 – the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024, over $26 million dollars was secured to fund a variety of critical projects throughout the Third District including PFAS filtration resources, highway reconstruction, and emergency and medical services equipment.

H.R. 277, the REINS Act of 2023

Under the Biden-Harris Administration, federal agencies continue to expand their authority by assuming the powers of the legislative and judicial branches, allowing unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats to make laws behind closed doors that will have serious impacts on the American way-of-life. The executive, judicial, and legislative branches are all co-equal branches of government. To restore the balance thrown off by the Biden-Harris administration, I cosponsored and helped pass H.R. 277 – the REINS Act of 2023, to require congressional approval before major rules can take effect.

H.R. 8281, the SAVE Act

With the over 10 million illegal aliens that have come across our southern border thanks to President Biden and Vice President Harris’ open border policies, it is vital we strengthen our election security and ensure that only American citizens are voting in federal American elections. I was proud to have voted to pass H.R. 8281 – the SAVE Act, which would require individuals to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections.

The Biden-Harris Border Crisis Report

The Biden-Harris border crisis was not some inevitable phenomenon – it was directly caused by the actions taken by President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas. The Committee on Homeland Security released a report revealing that even before taking office, the Administration was warned by experienced border security professionals about the dangers of their plan to open our borders and dismantle our border security. That is why I voted to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for violating border security laws enacted by Congress and threatening the safety of the American people.
