This is an analysis piece. We’re not going to pick a horse in the Wisconsin governor’s race primaries. However, with the introduction of Congressman Tom Tiffany into the race, there are some clear differences among the three declared Republican candidates, and there’s a battle of “C-list” candidates on the Democratic side.

Here’s how it breaks down.

It’s an open seat, and the Democrats don’t have a top-tier candidate. Assessing their candidates is easy. Let’s start there.

From apple picking to corn mazes and pumpkin patches, autumn is when agritourism truly shines. This growing sector connects visitors to working farms and rural communities through hands-on experiences that highlight the farm, the people, and the food we rely on. Agritourism includes any activity that welcomes the public to visit, learn, and enjoy farm life, all while supporting local agriculture. The industry has become a major economic driver, generating more than $1 billion in additional revenue for American farms.

Starting this month, Wisconsin households will no longer have to pay sales taxes on their electricity and natural gas bills.

This exemption is part of the nearly $1.5 billion tax relief package that Joint Finance Committee Republicans included in the 2025-27 state budget.

When putting together our current state spending plan, one of my top priorities was to ensure that Wisconsin taxpayers could keep more of their hard-earned money in their pocketbooks.

This shutdown is being driven by Chuck Schumer and the radical left. It is shameful and completely hypocritical because Schumer knows full well he is playing partisan games with people’s lives.

If Schumer and the Democrats were serious about avoiding a shutdown, they would have supported the House-passed funding bill or backed my Eliminate Shutdowns Act.

There were two clear opportunities to keep the government open — Democrats rejected both.

As I said in my floor speech Monday night, this shutdown was completely avoidable.

The Agricultural Roads Improvement Program (ARIP) was created to improve highways functionally classified as local roads that provide access to agricultural lands or facilities used to produce agricultural goods, including forest products.

The application process opens Monday, October 6th and closes December 15th. The Committee will review applications in January and February and is anticipated to announce the awards in late March of 2026.
