On March 4, 2025, the House Judiciary Committee heard testimony about the Right to Self Defense.
I recently had a great conversation with friends that helped me put words to something I’ve believed for a long time—not just in politics, but in life: treat it like a football game.
I played high school football. Those who know me are probably chuckling right now—yes, I was undersized and not exactly a star player. Think Rudy, minus the movie ending. But I loved the strategy, the teamwork, and the idea that every single player matters. I even managed a couple of interceptions in JV because the quarterbacks didn't notice me out on the field!
When it comes to the Second Amendment most Americans probably think first about the National Rifle Association, or the NRA. The NRA, founded in 1871, is known for its gun rights lobby and emphasis on firearms safety. The NRA may be the biggest (reportedly millions of members) and the best public advocate for defending our Second Amendment rights, and is among the most influential advocacy organizations (for any cause) in the United States. Come election time, the NRA routinely publishes a respected Voter Guide. But the NRA is not really alone!
In the lead up to last Monday’s Supreme Court race in Wisconsin, Senator Johnson explained how the Left is resorting to the courts and radical judges to impose their radical ideology.
I've been tracking the crisis at our southern border for well over a decade. We are still in the first 100 days of President Trump's presidency and just look at the tail end of this updated chart. Turns out we didn't need a new law. All we needed was a new president. We needed President Trump!
Before we dive into the nitty-gritty details of the outcomes of the 2025 General Election and what it means for our state and nation, I’d first like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted, who encouraged others to vote, and who prayed. You have been a good steward of your citizenship, and we are incredibly grateful.
On April 5th, a large group of people protested in La Crosse as part of the Hands Off 2025 day of protest. We’re blessed that La Crosse is a largely peaceful community. We don’t have a lot of Antifa thugs who agitate, hide their faces, destroy property and assault people. While we disagree with the protesters, at least they were peaceful. It’s their right to protest.
But let’s look at what they were actually told, and we’ll address it point by point. These bullet points were taken directly from the hands off 2025 dot com website. It provided a guide for the protests.
The Coulee Region Friends of NRA announced we have provided $18,120 this year in grants to local organizations at our 31st Annual Banquet at Stoney Creek Lodge recently. This brings the group’s total donations since 2000 to over $225,000.
Those grants go to groups that help promote youth shooting sports and include:
I am proud to introduce bipartisan legislation that helps our first responders better protect those suffering from anaphylaxis.
I drafted Senate Bill 156 in response to being contacted by the family of Andrew Mueller, a Wisconsin Rapids resident who recently passed away at the age of 20 after having an allergic reaction from eating peanut butter candy. Until that moment, Andrew and his family were unaware that he had a peanut allergy.
Our local Emergency Medical Service (EMS) departments are crucial to our communities because of their lifesaving support during times of crisis and dedication to the people they serve. However, many of our departments are struggling to recruit new members and keep the lights on. In times of need, it is crucial that our EMS departments are available when we need them.
