America is worth fighting for, worth protecting, and worth celebrating

We know America is worth fighting for, worth protecting, and worth celebrating. That’s why what we witnessed at this week’s State of the Union was so striking. At moments that should have united every American, some in the room couldn’t even bring themselves to celebrate our country.

When the men’s gold medal hockey team was recognized, I was proud and cheering “U-S-A!” But some Democrats couldn’t even stand to honor our American victory.

President Trump also delivered a line every American, regardless of party, should be able to support: “If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”

Not a single Democrat stood. Some even shook their heads no. Think about that… Democrats in Congress showed their true colors, and they are not Red, White, and Blue.

And then there was Dalilah Coleman, a young girl who sustained life-altering injuries in a crash caused by an illegal alien who had been granted a commercial driver’s license in California. Yet not one person on the other side stood to honor her.

That’s why I cosponsored the Stop Greenlighting Driver Licenses for Illegal Immigrants Act. It’s time to pump the brakes on federal funding for states that allow this, and why we must pass the Dalilah Law to permanently bar illegal aliens from receiving commercial driver’s licenses.

And while that work continues, we are already seeing progress.

Gas prices in Wisconsin have fallen to nearly half of their $5 peak under Biden. Inflation is now 2.4%, after hitting 9% under Biden. The nation experienced the largest drop in the murder rate ever recorded last year, and prescription drug prices are falling for millions of families.

Americans are also set to receive the largest tax cut in history, including a permanent child tax credit and no taxes on tips, overtime, or Social Security. Some Wisconsinites have even said their tax return doubled from last year.

My focus remains on getting even more done. That includes lowering costs, banning stock trades in Congress, passing the SAVE America Act to ensure voter ID in all 50 states, and getting the gray wolf delisted.

This state, this country, and you, the people of Wisconsin, are worth fighting for, worth protecting, and worth celebrating. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
