The Daily Wire reports that a Wisconsin school district is facing a lawsuit from a parent who claims that a teacher announced his gender “transition” to students, including elementary school students, without notifying parents.

Leah Buchman, a mother within the Eau Claire Area School District (ECASD), lodged a formal complaint on Monday accusing the district of violating open records law and neglecting to inform parents about the teacher’s gender transition announcement.

Traditionally, summer is considered a popular time to purchase a new home, however, rising housing costs and a shortage of workforce housing have been affecting many across the state.

Recent data released by the Wisconsin Realtor's Association show that the median price on homes rose to $304,000 in June of 2023, an 8.6% increase over the last year. This is the first time the statewide monthly median price has exceeded $300,000.

Last week, I introduced the Citizen Vote Protection Act, which will require driver’s licenses and identification cards to include an indication of United States citizenship. This bill will help strengthen voter confidence and help ensure free, fair, and secure elections.

A state senate committee held a public hearing this week on a resolution that would amend the State Constitution. The resolution would prohibit the state or its agencies, including local units of government and their agencies, from closing or banning gatherings in places of worship in response to a state of emergency at the national, state, or local level, including public health emergencies. To become law, this resolution would need to be passed by two successive legislatures and be ratified by the voters.

Last year, Governor Evers campaigned on Republican tax cuts; now that he’s been re-elected, he’s showing us his true colors. The legislature sent him a budget that cut income taxes by a record $3.5 billion and made our tax system flatter and fairer by streamlining Wisconsin’s four current brackets down to three. Unfortunately, Ninety-five percent of the tax cut fell victim to the Governor’s veto pen.
