All Democrats aren’t from Dublin

In 1914 the Irish novelist James Joyce published fifteen interconnected short stories in a book titled The Dubliners. The collection of stories described the early 20th century life in dreary Dublin for the middle class. They gave an unflinching bleak portrayal of Irish life with spiritual and moral paralysis, corruption, unattractive human behavior, and disrespectful dialogue about the King of England.

During the visit, Vance endorsed me as a leader who fights for Wisconsinites and credited me with helping deliver the Working Families Tax Cuts that benefit families across the state.

Sergeant Declan J. Coady

Today our nation pauses to honor six extraordinary Americans who gave their lives in service to our country. May God comfort their families and may their souls rest in gentle repose.

At the beginning of this legislative session, Representative Travis Tranel (R-Cuba City) and I introduced legislation to require local elected officials and municipalities to sign off on large-scale wind and solar projects before they are approved by the Public Service Commission (PSC). After more than a year of asking, Senate Bill (SB) 3 was finally given a hearing on March 10.

US Supreme Court Sides with Parents in Gender Transition Case

The US Supreme Court recently sided with a district court’s injunction in a case that will determine whether school gender-transition policies that encourage students to socially transition without parental consent are constitutional. The injunction places a temporary ban on social gender-transitioning in schools throughout the country while the cases are in court. Many pro-family and pro-freedom leaders, however, are hopeful that the courts will ultimately side with parents, as they have in previous cases.

Ag and Revenue Public Hearing

The Senate Agriculture and Revenue Committee, of which I am the chairman, held a public hearing this week on several legislative proposals.

One of the bills, SB 1084, would allow for the sale of state-owned land that is adjacent to, or within one mile of, a commercial egg farm to help prevent the spread of avian flu.

This clarification is needed because it enables the Natural Resources Board to deal with land-use conflicts and biosecurity concerns that are not addressed in current state statutes.

Delafield, Wis. – The Institute for Reforming Government (IRG) analyzed recent school data produced by the Department of Public Instruction.

DPI’s data include performance indicators like attendance, suspensions, graduation, and college enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year as well as public school enrollment numbers for the 2025-2026 school year. 2026 private school enrollment data was not yet made available.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Public school enrollment is plummeting.

URGENT: PROTECT OUR STUDENTS

Jill Underly and the DPI have shamefully covered up over 200 cases of teachers and staff accused of sexual misconduct and grooming from 2018–2023. Instead of full investigations and public warnings, predators were allowed to quietly surrender licenses and walk free, keeping families and other districts in the dark.

No-Show Jill even skipped a legislative hearing on the scandal to pick up an out-of-state award.

Data center reassurances don’t stand a chance against ‘Terminator’

Port Washington Mayor Ted Neitzke said he isn’t at all surprised by new polling that suggests people in Wisconsin are more than ever opposed to data centers.

Despite promises by developers to pay their own way for the power and infrastructure they will need and the proven cooling technology that refutes claims that they will “drain Lake Michigan,” you can expect some people to never change their minds, Neitzke said.

Republicans Lead the Charge to Protect our Kids from Grooming

Wisconsin children are safer after Gov. Evers signed a Republican bill to protect children across the state by establishing a criminal definition of "grooming" and treat the sexual grooming of a child as the serious and dangerous crime that it is. Previously, Wisconsin had no clear definition of grooming, allowing predatory behavior to go unpunished and the harshest charge someone convicted of grooming could receive was disorderly conduct.

Republican Candidate for LT Governor - David Varnam

I'm former Lancaster Mayor David Varnam, and I am running to be Wisconsin's next Lieutenant Governor.

I'd like to introduce myself. In addition to my three terms as Mayor, I am also a former Congressional Aide, and federal policy analyst at Focus on the Family for Dr. James Dobson. But two of my most important titles are Husband and Father, which is why I am concerned about their future and the path Democrats will lead our state down if they win the 2026 Governor and Lieutenant Governor race.
