Tax Time
Filing taxes is rarely something people look forward to, but it is an important part of how our state operates. In Wisconsin, individual income taxes make up about 45% of state tax collections.

What if the signals shaping our world aren’t always visible—or even meant to be heard?
Our community stands at an important moment. Too often, people feel like local government is something that happens to them instead of something that works for them. Many good people have never voted in a local election because they believe their voice doesn’t matter. But the truth is this: local elections are often decided by just a handful of votes. Your voice matters more here than almost anywhere else.
On Tuesday, April 7, voters in Wisconsin face a critical decision regarding the future direction of our Supreme Court. I write to urge my fellow citizens to support Judge Maria Lazar for the Wisconsin Supreme Court—a jurist whose impeccable record, unwavering dedication to the rule of law, and profound respect for our Constitution make her the ideal candidate for this important role.
Delafield, WI — The Institute for Reforming Government (IRG) announced the release of a comprehensive Court Watch Spring Report on Thursday, bringing together twelve research briefs examining how the Wisconsin Supreme Court shapes the state’s government, economy, and civil society.
The updated collection includes a new executive summary and conclusion that provides readers with a concise overview of the key themes across the research briefs and the growing importance of judicial philosophy in shaping public policy.
On March 25, between 7 and 8, WISN 12 is hosting a debate between the candidates running for the open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. If a local station does not carry it, they will livestream on wisn DOT com.
Many Telegram readers already know that Communist China has been buying up farmland and land near sensitive U.S. military bases.
But a new report reveals an even more alarming trend.
Between April 2024 and March 2025, foreign buyers purchased $56 billion worth of U.S. homes, which is a 33% increase from the year before.
And as you can guess… the top foreign buyer was Communist China.
Chinese buyers accounted for roughly one out of every six foreign home purchases, spending $13.7 billion in 2025 alone.
A letter in the March 2026 NEWSMAX Magazine titled “Voting Crucial” by a citizen from Monroe, Michigan caught my eye. The opening sentences were “Be careful when you vote for any Democrat, as they say one thing but mean another. Democrats like to get elected, then reveal their true thoughts and motives.”
When I arrived in Congress in 2011, America’s debt and deficit was THE major topic of discussion. Our nation’s total debt was $14.7 trillion and 96% of GDP. Soon it will hit and surpass $39 trillion and 124% of GDP. Within 10 years it will almost certainly exceed $60 trillion.
Congressman Derrick Van Orden hosted a Wisconsin Trucking Industry Showcase in Monroe County, joined by U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, highlighting local truckers’ concerns and unveiling $8.4 million in funding that Van Orden secured to improve rural roads and freight corridors in Wisconsin's Third District!
From dairy farms and timber operations to manufacturers and machine shops, everything produced in Wisconsin ends up on a truck. If trucking stops, America stops.
Harry Wait is going on trial for intentionally exposing vulnerabilities in Wisconsin's elections. His trial will be held on March 23rd and 24th at the Racine County Law Enforcement Center.
But Judge Daniel Johnson, who is presiding over the proceedings, appears to be signaling that he won't allow critical evidence that would expose those vulnerabilities at the trial.
If this is true it's a major problem and ironic, because we have a man sitting on the bench with the title of "Judge", who is obviously not using "Good Judgement".

During an Assembly floor session, Assembly Bill 842 and Assembly Bill 874, authored by Rep. Nancy VanderMeer (R-Tomah), passed the Assembly with strong bipartisan support.
Assembly Bill 842 is intended to improve pharmacy access statewide, particularly in rural and underserved communities experiencing pharmacy closures, reduced operating hours, and workforce shortages that hinder timely access to essential medications.
