Term Limits - Revisited

In the past 7 years I have written about Term Limits on at least three occasions. Term Limits has been a “hot topic” issue since the early 1990s in the contemporary United States but early concerns on the topic were expressed in the Revolutionary War era. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators that would leave their normal productive employment and go to the Nation’s Capital a few months each year and then return home to continue their normal employment. Further, after a term or two it would be someone else’s turn to serve his country by going to Congress.

An Attitude of Gratitude

Not too many weeks ago I read an AMAC Magazine article titled; "Unending Gratitude: How the 'Honor Flight' Network is Giving Back to America’s Veteran Heroes." As I read the article, I quickly realized there were two groups being recognized. The first, of course, were the Veterans from World War II, Korean Conflict, and Vietnam War. The second includes all the patriotic freedom loving Americans that support the Honor Flights with their time, volunteer efforts, and financial assistance to give proper recognition to the first group!

I applaud the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announcement that Wisconsin will receive $203,670,005 through the Rural Health Transformation Program, part of a historic $50 billion investment created under President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts legislation to strengthen and modernize rural health care across America.

MN fraud /punishment

Two things I have not heard in the reporting on the Minnesota. Fraud.

One is the fact that every request granted for money requires a signature on a piece of paper. This is treated as testimony that the invoices are real and proper. There is fraud within the Minnesota government. The offending government office holders need to be threatened with jail, fines, and - automatically - loss of job. Those that cooperate could negotiate a lesser punishment. This will lead to punishment of those higher up.

District Court Rules in Favor of Parents' Rights

Last week, in a win for educators, parents, and children across the country, a U.S. district court ruled in Mirabelli v. Olson that California's Parental Exclusion Policies are unconstitutional. The case was brought to the Court by two California teachers who, due to these policies, were forced to affirm their students' social gender transitions without parental knowledge or consent. This decision has set an important precedent for protecting the rights of parents in every state, including Wisconsin.
