In January of this year bills were introduced in both houses of Congress called the “Life at Conception Act of 2017”. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced S.231 with 8 co-sponsors. Rep. Alex X. Mooney (R-WV 8th) introduced HR.681 with 57 co-sponsors to include Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI 6), the only co-sponsor from Wisconsin in either house of Congress. One more Senator and 3 more Representatives have since joined as co-sponsors.

For much of the year my thoughts lean toward politics, foreign policy, and economics. However, during this very special time of year my mind is preoccupied with far more important ideas. We have just celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God. This is the most significant event in all of human history because it was through that sacrifice that every human being is cleansed from his or her sins and welcomed into God's family as a redeemed child.

Free Speech Still Matters

It is getting scary to see all the news reports about how our freedom of speech in America is being threatened. From un-Constitutional 'gag orders' by leftist judges who want to silence conservatives to leftist activist thugs who beat up people for disagreeing with them at protests in Berkely, or even a UW-L employee who gets fired for expressing a different political opinion, there can be no doubt that our First Amendment rights are being threatened. Come and join us for this very important event where special guests will address this increasingly scary topic.

Godly Living Can Cure our Culture

Atheists and Agnostics do not accept a supreme power over their lives. It seems our elected officials, the courts, public schools, and the media agree that we can live just fine without the recognition of an ultimate God, instead each person can be their own god. They reject a Judge who has the ultimate rule over their lives, and their souls after earthly death.

As a Christian I am naturally concerned for their eternal well-being, but when their choices affect our culture and our nation, I as a citizen am very disturbed.
