The Federal Government Finally Says No

The federal Department of Health and Human Services is putting the brakes on the transgender movement by ending funding for hospitals that participate in gender transitions of minors. In doing so, the federal government has formally declared that those interventions do not meet professionally recognized standards of care for children.

As Richard Moore argues, for years we were told to “trust the experts” on scientific matters. Now, HHS is holding liberal physicians to their own standard.

Ensuring Data Centers Pay Their Own Way

Whether we like it or not, data centers are coming to Wisconsin. In the coming years, more local governments will face the decision of whether to host a data center in their community.

However, the effects of data centers have the potential to be felt by Wisconsinites statewide, not just those that live near one.

We introduced legislation that will protect all Wisconsin residents. We all deserve to know that our electric rates won’t go up when data centers are built, and we must ensure that our land and our water is used in a responsible manner.

Thank you to Law Enforcement

After law enforcement was demonized during the riots of 2020, and now again amid the obstruction, attacks, and unrest in Minnesota and in Democrat-run states across the nation, I want to take a moment to thank the men and women in law enforcement for the work they do across our country every single day.

It is not an easy job, but they are carrying out their constitutional duty. Immigration enforcement is a national obligation under the U.S. Constitution, and the federal government has the full authority and responsibility to enforce immigration laws in every state.

Citizens Deserve Fiscal Responsibility, Not Extravagance

I am writing today as a deeply concerned homeowner and taxpayer in Monroe County. Just this week, I received my 2025 real estate tax bill, and once again, I am left frustrated and bewildered by the relentless rise in property taxes. My house was reassessed this year, and as a result, my taxes have gone up by $450—an increase of 10.7% over last year’s bill. It’s even more disturbing when I look back and realize that last year, my property taxes jumped by more than $1,000.

A recent report from the federal Government Accountability Office reveled just how little oversight there is into possible fraud involving Obamacare premium subsidies. Courtney Graves highlights these problems in the $120 billion premium subsidy program and points out that basic fraud prevention tactics could go a long way to ensuring only those who should benefit from the program are receiving the government assistance.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced that Wisconsin will be receiving more than $203 million through the Rural Health Transformation Program. That program is part of the $50 billion created under President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts legislation designed to help modernize health care facilities in rural America.

These funds will be used in Wisconsin to expand access to care and bolster rural economies with better facilities, updated technology and allows care to remain local for our rural communities in the state.
