The “47 Year War”

The current news about a “47 Year War” with Iran may actually be a bit incomplete without considering the last three-quarters of a century. Iran and the United States were considered close allies until the 1979 Iranian Revolution which led to the Iranian Hostage Crisis. Previous to that, a significant event in US-Iran relations was the 1953 United States CIA orchestrated coup in Iran which led to two and a-half decades of friendship. What follows is a brief list of historical events leading to the current situation being called the “47 Year War!”

This race is too close to call

Newsweek just confirmed our worst fears: this race is an absolute dead heat.

A brand-new report highlights the reality of our fight here in Wisconsin. Whether we face far-left Madison Representative Francesca Hong or former Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, the data shows this election is neck and neck.

The Radical Left is pouring everything they’ve got into our state to buy this election, push their extreme agenda, and expand their control.

They know that if they win Wisconsin, they can reshape the future of the entire country.

In the early 70s, America tried to improve the connection we had with Iran, and one of the things we did was give them American Navy ships that were on their way to decommissioning. It was my job to train them on how to run the ship's electrical system. We had our active duty Navy sailors teach them how to operate the ships, from electrical generation to operating the weapons on board. Once they learned full operation (a difficult challenge) we gave them the ship!

Sheriff Candidate Qualifications

“A picture says a thousand words…” is certainly pertinent concerning the Monroe County Herald front page article on Monday, June 8th.

In the article Sheriff candidate Mike Krause emphatically states “Yes, I am a citizen” but a careful reading of the 2008 document in the picture states “I deny I am a U.S. citizen…” Six lines later in the same document Mr. Krause stated “I am not a ‘United States citizen’ subject to its jurisdictions….” Mr. Krause, you can’t have it both ways!

Benjamin Yount covers the latest Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce Employer Survey, which reveals that over half of business owners believe the state is headed in the wrong direction, with 51% saying high taxes weaken their competitiveness. Strong support for eliminating the personal income tax underscores growing frustration with Wisconsin’s tax climate.

In your city right now, there is a mother of an unborn child who has ordered the abortion pill through the mail.

Not only will her baby die if she takes the pill, but her health is at risk as she has not checked with her doctor to see how many weeks she is pregnant, if she has any other complications, or if she has an ectopic pregnancy. On top of all of this, her boyfriend is pressuring her to abort.

The Story The Media — And The Government — Don't Want You To Hear

As Chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, I held a hearing on April 29 and released a report titled "Unmasked: How Biden Health Officials Purposely Turned a Blind Eye Toward COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Signals."

For weeks, I have been asking the legacy media to report on it.

NBC, ABC, PBS, CNN, and MSNow have all refused to cover my report.

The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA TODAY, and Fox Digital have all declined or ignored requests to publish my op-ed.

Claiming credit for rural health funding after opposing Republican bill that created it

I criticized Governor Tony Evers for taking credit for the new rural health care grant funding created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act after he spent months attacking the legislation and urging opposition to it.

This week, Governor Evers announced the availability of funding through Wisconsin’s Rural Health Transformation Program, touting a total of $203.7M for projects aimed at strengthening rural health care. The funding stems directly from the Rural Health Transformation Program established in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Wisconsin should choose the right side of the income tax divide

States are increasingly choosing sides on income tax policy. The general national trend in recent years has been toward lower, flatter income tax systems, while a smaller number of states have moved in the other direction, toward higher top marginal rates.

Wisconsin is in the middle, pulled in both directions. The choice our leaders make about which path to follow will have important implications for the state’s future competitiveness and prosperity.
