Visiting La Crosse

I always appreciate when I get to spend time in Wisconsin’s Third District and meet with the folks I represent in Congress. Last week, I spent a day in La Crosse where I had the opportunity to speak with constituents about issues that matter the most to them and how I can best work on their behalf.

I started my morning at the La Crosse Civil Air Patrol Squadron Headquarters touring the facility and learning more about their work in serving as an official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. I also had the opportunity to test out their F-16 simulator. These folks are doing great work for our nation’s emergency response services and preparing our next generation of aerospace industry leaders.

I also enjoyed visiting Stella Jones in Bangor to see their work in supporting our nation’s rail industry and connecting Third District businesses with the rest of the nation.

Glad you have the ambition and interest to be here and see what is important to us. Stella Jones in Bangor was a major American Company, that is now headquartered in Canada. While I am glad they are here, I wish it was American-owned and I wish the sale to non-American companies needs to stop. We need to look at why this happened, and change it!
