Assembly Bill 308, also called the Wisconsin Health Care Integrity Act, prohibits any federal, state, or local funds from being used to subsidize, reimburse, or compensate for healthcare services for illegal immigrants. Blue states like Minnesota and Illinois have irresponsibly expanded their taxpayer funded healthcare programs to cover everyone regardless of their citizenship status, costing each state hundreds of millions of dollars.

This legislation is important as it prevents any future taxpayer dollars from being used on undocumented immigrants over citizens. Expanding programs to cover illegal immigrants is expensive, especially healthcare. Wisconsin will continue to prioritize its own citizens and ensure they receive the coverage they pay for instead of spending large amounts of money on those who are here illegally. The Wisconsin Healthcare Integrity Act is fiscally and socially responsible legislation that will keep our state on the right track for the foreseeable future.
