PRAT Tax Public Hearings

I attended the public hearing for the PRAT tax on March 16 hosted by County Board Chair Tara Johnson. After listening to a presentation about how bad the county infrastructure is and why our government is recommending this new tax I asked the following question: Considering that voters adamantly opposed a wheel tax just a few short months ago, what makes you think they will approve this new sales tax? Specifically, I'm thinking about single mothers who are already struggling to make ends meet. Do you expect them to approve greater expenses for themselves when they are shopping for their kids?

Thankfully, I'm not the only one with questions like that. Tara Johnson's voicemail box is full and no further messages can be left for her. That's unfortunate. I would expect a servant of the people to do a better job managing her time so that all citizen's voices could be heard on such an important issue. Now that I think of it, she admitted in that meeting that they deliberately chose to ignore the roads when they made the decision to double our county debt so I guess it shouldn't surprise me that she would also choose to ignore voters.

CouleeConservatives.com has been reporting on this issue for several weeks now. Here is a list of our content that you can review before making your own decision about how to vote:

I'll be voting no on this new tax on single mothers and I pray you will too.
