Is La Crosse County Better or Worse with Existing County Leaders?

My opponent has been on the La Crosse County Board since the 1980’s. Are things getting better or worse after all that time?

Friends from church recently received the following letter from my opponent:

If it is true that he has been doing such a great job with our tax rates then why does the county portion of our taxes keep going up year after year since he has been in office? Here is a photo I took of my tax bill (hard facts) where I highlighted the line that represents the county portion. As you can see it has a 3.4% increase from the previous year and I’m not the only one. A friend from West Salem informed me his went up 10%. Check your own statements. Are your property taxes going up or down?

My deeply partisan opponent failed to mention that the road budget started at $10 million but he and the other entrenched politicians on the board voted to reduce it to $9 million. In other words, he voted to TAKE $1 million from the road budget. In his letter to my friends he conveniently left out important details such as when he was county board chair he led the effort to saddle our taxpayers with $59 million of debt. How is that ‘being serious about saving tax dollars?’

I'm so tired of slick talking career politicians. My opponent has been on this county board since the 1980’s and we currently have 100 miles of road listed in poor condition. I have had enough of the empty promises and fancy word games. I spent the last 25 years in a software engineering career listening to business owners, designing software solutions, and delivering results. I will bring a professional focus to the county board and guide the local government back to their proper lane: Roads, Safety, & Infrastructure then return the savings to the taxpayers who deserve some tax relief.

But nothing will change if he wins another term in this seat. You have the power to make a lasting change in this election by casting your vote for Chris Muller so call your municipal clerk today and find out when you and all your friends can participate in this election while the early voting period is open.

Take care and God Bless,
Chris Muller

P.S. Our “get out the vote” efforts are in full force and we need all the help we can get. DM if you can help us with yard sign locations, phone calls, and door-to-door or send us a check to help pay for all the materials and stamps we need to spread the message in these final days of the campaign. Remember that Wisconsin law caps donations at $500 so anything up to that amount will be greatly appreciated.

We have had hobby representatives for too long, it is time for someone to take a serious approach to solving issues and stop spending more on wasteful programs.
