Inauguration Day Kicks Off Session & Senate Passes Voter ID Resolution
Activity ramped up at the state Capitol this week as members of the 107th session of the Wisconsin State Legislature were sworn into office.
Now entering my third term as a state senator, it is an absolute honor and privilege that you, the voters of the 24th Senate District, continue to put your trust in me to advocate for your priorities down in Madison.
I am anticipating a productive session where my colleagues and I will advance legislation that benefits all residents of the state.
While I will always work on all issue areas, I expect to primarily focus on cutting taxes, increasing access to healthcare in rural Wisconsin, strengthening our agriculture industry, assisting military veterans and bolstering our workforce.
For the 2025-26 legislative session, I will also be heavily involved in putting together the state’s biennial budget as Senate vice-chair of the powerful Joint Finance Committee.
In addition, I will be serving as chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Revenue and as vice-chair of the Senate Committee on Health. I will also be the co-chair of the Joint Survey Committee on Tax Exemptions and a member of the Senate Committee on Financial Institutions and Sporting Heritage and the Joint Committee on Information Policy and Technology.
Furthermore, I will continue to serve as president pro tempore of the Senate. As president pro tempore, I am tasked with performing the Senate president’s responsibilities whenever they are unavailable. I have held that role since January of 2021.
