Chili Cookoff Warms Hearts at American Legion Post 336
What a fantastic day for chili, camaraderie, and community spirit! On behalf of the Friends of NRA, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this year’s Chili Cookoff at American Legion Post 336 such a great success. Thanks to your generosity and the Post’s hospitality, we grossed $1,594 and netted $1,415- double last year’s total! Every dollar raised supports youth shooting sports and teaches safe, responsible firearm handling to the next generation.
A special thank-you goes out to American Legion Post 336 for opening their doors and helping make this event possible. Their ongoing commitment to community service and youth programs truly exemplifies what it means to serve beyond the uniform.
We also want to recognize Tom Sweeney, who won the 50/50 raffle and immediately donated his $260 prize back to the cause - a wonderful gesture that reflects the giving spirit of this community.
And of course, congratulations to our chili champions! Curt Hickok took home first place and a $100 gift card, Amber and Dirk earned second, and Chad rounded out the top three.
Thank you again to all the cooks, tasters, and volunteers. With your support - and the help of Post 336 - we’re strengthening youth programs and passing on the values of safety, discipline, and respect, one bowl of chili and one target at a time.
