My number one priority in Congress is delivering results for the people of Wisconsin’s Third District. Whether it be responding to your legislative questions, assisting with a federal agency inquiry, or securing Community Project Funding (CPF), I’m always working to best serve you. As we head into a new year and start the 119th Congress, I wanted to take a moment to share the casework accomplished for the Third District in the 118th Congress.

According to allegations shared with Kenosha County Eye, a 16-year-old boy has been using the girls’ locker room to change at Westosha Central High School. Parents said the boy stares at the young girls while they change and has repeatedly exposed himself in front of them. When the girls approached their gym teacher, she said that the boy “identifies” as a girl and they should stop “stirring up drama.” The students were prohibited from using the family locker room to change and were then penalized for showing up to gym class without proper attire.

A recent NEWSMAX magazine article “Civic Education Key to Future” caught my eye as it wasn’t the first such article I have seen in the past few years. This article had a few pointed comments, to include “…less than half of U.S. adults could name the three branches of government.” Much of the article appeared to be a tribute to the late Supreme Court Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Connor on the first anniversary of her passing. O’Connor was very concerned about the poor quality of civics education and remained active in the field until her passing.

Remembering President Carter

The passing of former President Jimmy Carter at 100 years old causes a time of remembering and reflection. Carter was the country’s 39th President having served in that role from January 1977 to January 1981.

To put that in perspective, Carter followed President Ford, the country’s only unelected President, who had followed President Nixon, the country’s only President to resign from office. Ford can be remembered for his pardoning of Nixon and his WIN buttons (“Whip Inflation Now”).
