I am running for Superintendent of Public Instruction in the 2025 spring election. I have championed high standards for students and families throughout my career as an education leader. I have taught both science and special education in public schools. When I was an innovative principal at a public school serving low-income communities, then-State Superintendent Tony Evers honored me with the “Beating the Odds” award. I have held leadership positions in both local and national education organizations. Most recently, I was the co-founder of a high-impact literacy initiative addressing the reading crisis by coaching educators and school leaders how to teach students to read skillfully. With advanced degrees in education and a passion for expanding opportunities, I am dedicated to creating transformative change for students and schools.

As a former special education teacher and elementary school principal, I am committed to ensuring students can read, write, and do math skillfully. I want to restore high academic standards and make sure students have the skills they need for good jobs after graduation. I am the only candidate running to restore high standards for Wisconsin students. I believe Wisconsin must prioritize reading, writing, math, and science to provide the foundation for meaningful careers and a bright future.

I am in this race to help Wisconsin kids. No special interest or political party recruited me to run. My campaign is powered by volunteers and activists from across the political spectrum. While these Spring Elections are nonpartisan in nature, rarely do you see such a broad coalition of support for a candidate like me for statewide office.

It's time to get on this campaign and talk with someone every day about common sense education not controlled by unions.
