Wisconsin Democrat 'Somewhere in the Middle' - Then Endorses NYC Socialist

Rebecca Cooke, the Wisconsin Democrat expected to take on Republican incumbent Derrick Van Orden in the state's swingy third district, has repeatedly described her politics as "somewhere in the middle," complaining that "everyone in Washington is either too far left or too far right." Then she endorsed Zohran Mamdani, the socialist frontrunner in New York City's mayoral race.

A potential voter at La Crosse County Democrats' monthly meeting on Monday asked Cooke who she "would be supporting for mayor" if she lived in New York City.

"Mamdani," she said to applause.

Increasing Housing Supply for the Working Class

On Tuesday, Assembly Republicans unveiled their package of housing bills aimed at increasing the supply of housing for the working class through mortgage and loan assistance, tax increment districts (TIDs), zoning, repayment structures, and more. We cannot move Wisconsin forward if we do not make housing more affordable for Wisconsinites. This affects both rural and urban communities, which is why there are so many stakeholders involved in this process.

I know you've noticed that there has been no marching, protesting, stealing, or burning during these last two weeks.

Am I happy that Charles James Kirk is dead? No. Am I happy that there have been over 62,000 requests (PJ Media) for Turning Point chapters during the last two weeks. Yes. (Reference: Present college chapters, 900 and 1200 high school.) Am I happy that his memorial service lasted nearly 5 hours? Yes. Am I happy for Charlie? Yes, just as it was with my wife, who has passed nearly 3 years ago, but sad for me.

Earlier this week, Rep. Scott Krug and I participated in a press conference where we introduced legislation allowing for the construction and operation of community solar facilities in Wisconsin.

Community solar is a model in which multiple customers share the benefits of a single, large solar project located off-site. Community solar infrastructure can be installed almost anywhere and is often placed on small parcels of under-utilized farmland.

Holding the Line for Hunters

As the crisp air returns and football season kicks off, it also marks the beginning of one of Wisconsin’s most cherished traditions: hunting season. Archery deer season begins in September, followed by the youth deer hunt in October, and the gun deer season in November. Like so many others, I am getting excited to head out to my tree stand in hopes of getting a deer.

The Assembly is back in session and things have been picking up here in Madison. On Thursday, September 11th, my Republican colleagues and I voted to pass several bills aimed at improving how our government serves the people of Wisconsin. From strengthening accountability in our state agencies, to expanding access to essential health services and streamlining vital programs, these proposals reflect a commitment to practical, people-first solutions.

Highlights from session include:

We're Done

First, let me make it clear that I’m a fan of Charlie Kirk, and have followed him for years. He did something that was desperately needed. He went to the campus, the church of leftist thought, and engaged people in conversation. He asked what the people believed and why. People who disagreed with him were welcomed to speak first. He would then discuss data, history, cause/effect, the world, and his faith. And he was killed for that.

We seem to have an inordinate number of citizens who are confused about the 1st Amendment and freedom of speech.

We are all different in that our opinions are shaped by our unique life experiences. Part of our experiences is our parents and the culture we live in. We need to reflect on that before we take an action that is hurtful to another. When someone is a target in a disagreement, it does not mean they are deserving of wrath; not necessarily evil. This is a reason to have government; to deal with evil.

What I have to say about Wednesday’s political assassination

What happened on Wednesday was a political assassination. These people finally got the result they wanted in Butler, Pennsylvania last year when they shot President Trump.

Democrats have proven that when they lose elections, they’ll just hunt us down.

They want us to bow down to them and make us submit.

They want to silence dissent and silence the truth.

But I am not afraid.
