This week, the House Judiciary Committee held our second hearing in front of a packed house on the impact of the Biden Border Crisis.

We went directly to a border town in Arizona to hear from local law enforcement about the rise in crime and fentanyl overdoses as well as farmers who spoke about the trespassing and environmental damage of illegal migrants on their crop production. We also heard from the one hospital in Yuma that they are being overrun by the surge in illegal immigration.

One of my priorities as your Member of Congress is keeping you informed of what I’m learning.

Last week, I traveled to the southern border alongside Speaker Kevin McCarthy and three of my House of Representatives freshman colleagues to see the border crisis firsthand. What I saw was shocking. We watched over a dozen illegal immigrants cross the border in real-time.

A pivotal election took place in Wisconsin on Tuesday. This race has garnered nationwide attention and involvement because the balance of the Wisconsin Supreme Court is at stake. Will it remain conservative or flip to liberal?

The race, which the New York Times calls “the most consequential American election on the 2023 calendar,” is expected to be the most expensive judicial election in American history. Over $8.7 million has already been spent on advertising.

On Wednesday, Governor Evers delivered his budget address, and like his last two, it's filled with unsustainable amounts of spending – a 23% increase in the first year alone! His desire to grow the size of government and spend recklessly move Wisconsin in the wrong direction.

The tax cuts are hand-picked rather than for all Wisconsinites and are almost equal to the number of tax increases he's proposing. Governor Evers' tax increases would cost taxpayers nearly $1.4 billion.

Former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Daniel Kelly is the better of the two conservative candidates in the upcoming February 21st Nonpartisan Primary Election for Wisconsin’s Supreme Court. The other conservative is Judge Jennifer Dorow who is currently a Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge. Either is a better choice for Wisconsin than the other two candidates that will be on the Primary Ballot.

The University of Wisconsin campuses conducted a survey about free speech, and the results show a very different college experience based on students' political beliefs. Around 10,500 students across 13 campuses responded.

Republican and right-leaning students report they're silenced, pressured to agree with instructors, and face unwelcoming environments. Liberal and left-leaning students however have a much friendlier college experience.
