The Joint Finance Committee kicked off the 2025 Budget Road Show earlier this week with a stop in Kaukauna.

As Senate vice-chair of JFC, I spent the entire day at the listening session hearing from residents across Wisconsin about their priorities for the 2025-27 state spending plan.

JFC members will be hosting another listening session tomorrow in West Allis.

But most of us will not show up! Those who show up often want more money for projects that the government should not be involved with. Don't ever forget that many of those people don't pay much in the form of income tax; they do pay some sales tax and fuel tax, and if there are going to be taxes, that is a fairer way to get them.
