Attorney General Josh Kaul announced a $160,000 settlement with Gundersen Lutheran Administrative Services, Inc. The settlement resolves a civil environmental enforcement action against the company for alleged violations of its air pollution control permit and state air pollution control regulations for the company’s operation of a wood-fired boiler in La Crosse County, Wisconsin.

So a look into this violation appears to show some insignificant minor issues from a mild violation by Gundersen employees and maybe only one. They were trying to be environmentally friendly and burning wood scrap. producing free electricity and getting rid of a byproduct.

As I see it, Gundersen is trying to help society and now they have been attacked by an abusive state government bureaucrat, with an ego. It is fine for government oversight in some cases, but this is pure Tyranny. They should have said " We are from the government and are here to help" but no, they said you people who work for the good of the community are going to pay us money because you're not perfect.

Some of you know I am into Liberty and Justice for All, but can you tell me what Justice this massive fine could serve?

But leave those who make simple mistakes alone! While looking into this you can see that Gundersen was at fault, but I don't think they were viciously trying to get away with something sneaky. I don't know all the inside details, but I would guess that they might have bent the rules a bit, out of employee discretion, but this should have been handled by better communication and explanation. I did not see the extent of health concerns with this violation, so I can't be sure of my position.

I am a farmer, and I can drive an unlicensed vehicle on my land legally. By law, I need a permit to drive my ATV on my land, so I would like to ignore that law, it is a protest against government overreach.

Many years ago I pushed an issue with the State of Wisconsin, and the Scott Walker administration to change the DNR policy, (they did a lot of that) that allowed me to fish in my personal farm pond without a fishing license. I no longer need a fishing license to harvest my fish. Was that law a violation of my rights?

I tell these two stories because I am not sure the DNR is always correct in their policy and regulations.

The bottom line is the government should work for the people, not against them! I don't think that is what happened here!

The bureaucracy has created so many B.S. laws that every one of us is guilty of something at some point in our lives. Ever drive faster than 55? It all comes down to enforcement. Notice how when Democrats are in power they treat enforcement of laws as a way for them to shake down companies? Even the companies who help heal our friends and family? Voting to put Democrats in power is like voting for the Corleone family to run the nation. They use their power to shake down and take what they want like the mafia bullies they truly are in their hearts.

There seems to be three stories here,
First, There seems to be an excessive amount of regulation. Maybe the next Governor needs to follow President-elect Trump's leadership and establish a "WI-DOGE" in January 2027.
Then, Gunderson can't seem to follow the rules even when they get reminders. I wonder if they are one of a kind, or typical of hospitals or even "green new deal" corporate activists?
Finally, look at the timing: why now? Most of the findings were from 2022 or before, many were five years or older. Maybe AG Kaul was working on his resume to send to the new Harris-Walz administration?
