Wisconsin’s latest reading scores are a wake-up call
Last week, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction released the latest FORWARD exam reading results. The numbers make it clear: we can and must do better for Wisconsin kids.
That’s why I launched Kids Win Wisconsin — and I’m encouraged to see our work already making news:
- WisPolitics: "Kids Win in Wisconsin Launches Statewide Literacy Tool"
- Urban Milwaukee: "Kids Win Wisconsin Updates & Advocacy"
- MacIver Institute: "Former Superintendent Candidate Kinser Urges Parents to See Reading Scores"
Our new statewide literacy tool makes student literacy and reading proficiency outcomes transparent and easy to understand.
As a former special education teacher and principal, I’ve seen firsthand how hard Wisconsin’s educators work every day to prepare students for success. But the data shows we must restore high standards so our kids don’t fall behind.
Can you help spread the news?
Building awareness is a critical first step towards making change. Please share the data tool with your family and friends so they can take a test-drive and sign up to stay informed!
With your help, we can shine a light on what’s happening in classrooms across our state, identify opportunities to work together, and ensure every child in Wisconsin has the opportunity to succeed.
