TAX FILING JUST GOT EASIER!

It’s my honor to serve Wisconsin’s Third District as your Member of Congress.

This coming tax season doesn’t need to be stressful. Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, filing your taxes is now simpler, faster, and more rewarding for families across Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District.

Here’s what this means for you:

Tax Relief Made Simple

House Republicans simplified the tax code for 91% of taxpayers, turning a season of stress into a season of relief. Families now pay no taxes on the first $31,500 they earn ($15,750 for individuals), thanks to a permanently expanded Standard Deduction.

Bigger Refunds, Less Hassle

With the new tax cuts applying retroactively to 2025, most households can expect refunds that are about $1,000 higher on average, putting roughly $91 billion back into taxpayers’ pockets this spring. By keeping the expanded Standard Deduction in place, Americans will also avoid 210 million hours per year in paperwork and save an estimated $13 billion annually in filing costs.

Keeping the IRS Out of Your Taxes

We stopped the IRS from expanding its government-run tax filing system. Taxpayers deserve choice, privacy, and control, rather than a one-size-fits-all program run by the same agency that collects your money. Our action protects your right to choose how you file and keeps the process simple, secure, and in your hands.

By the Numbers:

  • $31,500 Standard Deduction for families
  • $1,000 projected increase in the average refund
  • 210 million hours of paperwork saved each year

These reforms deliver real relief for working families, including simpler filing, bigger refunds, and a tax system that works for you.

As always, our office is here to help. If you have questions about federal tax policy or need assistance navigating government resources, please don’t hesitate to call my office in the District or in Washington.
