Solutions, Not Excuses

Tony Evers continues to make excuses for his failure to lead. He says he couldn’t make it to Kenosha because it was hard to travel during COVID; he can’t fix failing Milwaukee schools because he wants more money; he can’t fire DA John Chisholm because the paperwork wasn’t good enough.

We’re all tired of his excuses. That’s why I’m running. I have solutions.

BREAK UP MPS

Milwaukee schools are failing our kids. Proficiency scores, graduation rates, and absenteeism rank among the lowest in the state. The education elites blame these failures on a lack of funding, but they get way more than funding than other schools. We need to break up the Milwaukee Public School District and form smaller school districts that better serve our kids. Children are not just numbers in a sea of 70,000+ kids. Principals and superintendents need to know their kids and their issues. This is the one solution no one has had the guts to implement. I will.

BACKING THE BADGE

Did you know 3 cops have been shot in 2 weeks in Milwaukee? Tuesday I stood with Milwaukee law enforcement and shared my plan to fix Wisconsin’s crime crisis. I'll hire 1,000 more cops, sign comprehensive bail reform, fire liberal District Attorney John Chisholm, surge state patrol in high crime areas, and appoint tough-on-crime judges who will keep violent criminals behind bars. Wisconsin families shouldn’t have to accept violence in their communities. As governor, I’ll support the brave men and women who stand on the thin blue line and tackle out-of-control crime head on.

WEEKEND ROAD TRIP

We have another full weekend of county party caucuses and Lincoln Day Dinners: Outagamie, Sheboygan, Dodge, Richland, Vernon and Monroe. As I meet with voters across the state, I feel both frustration in Tony Evers’ leadership and enthusiasm to replace him. Our campaign is one of hope: we have a plan for safer communities, secure elections, and better education. I’m thankful for your support and vision for Wisconsin’s future.

Forward!

Most approach to education has been from the side of political correctness and education insiders. In 1980 my fist cousin took his fist teaching job in inner city Milwaukee as an elementary teacher. His goal was to help clean up the mess. He worked at it for 25 years, it got worse. We need to break the mold, in Milwaukee, the status quo will not work as it never has.

Milwaukee is 90 percent of the reason Wisconsin has so many problems, our prisons are full, and many of our criminals start out there, and much of it comes down to poor success in education, and poor family structure.

Rebecca Kleefhisch, as Lt. Governor under Scott Walker is indelibly tied to his policies. And while the Walker administration did some very good things, there are a few things that I wish to hold him, and by extension, her accountable for.

I do not think any conservative Republcian can say that Jim Doyle did a good job, that goverNMEnt back then was "right sized." Walker held the line with a small increase in state spending in his first term, but NEVER reduced the total size and cost of government. Indeed a couple of his "balanced budgets" did so by borrowing money. If goverNMEnt in WI was too high back in 2010, today, with about $35 Billion in extra biennial spending, it is STILL too big.

Second, Walker supported not-so-Smart Growth/ sustainable development, an attack on property rights that is neither smart nor conducive to growth. It should go.

Third, Scott Walker worked with Tony Evers to implement one of the greatest acadmeic disasters of all time- Common Core. I and a had full of fruends fought mightily to stop this back in 2013-14, to no avail. We predicted back then that the result would be MORE brainwashing and LESS academic achievement. And today? "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!" CRT is but an extension of the bad ideas contained in Common Core.
And finally, I celebrated when the old Dept of Commerce was ended. This amounted to a subsidy to certain businesses, usually politically connected. So let us stomp on its grave. BUT instead of letting those sleeping dogs lie, Walker implemented WI Economic Development Corp, appointed himself head, and what followed was a series of scandals and mismanagement. This was but a part of his crony capitalism/corporate welfare schemes, however. Hey great we kept the Milwaukee Bucks, but why did I have to contribute to a 1/4 Billion fund to bribe them to stay? The Bucks is nothing but an entertainment industry, and ALL industry should succeed or fail of its own efforts, NOT come to taxpayers for a handout. ANd the granddaddy of all give-aways, FOXCONN!! BOY did WE get CONNED ON THAT one!! A potential $4.7 billion give way, including about a BIllion and a Half up front, and today, the operation is a ghost of what was promised,

Now it appears that Rebecca has plugged into the same good-old-boy network, including WMC, that made me suspicious of Walker, even before he was elected. This raises suspicisons, that maybe she has not the gravitas, to stand for what is right, even in the face of party members and movers and shakers that help her get elected.

So, as much as I like Becky, unless and until she repudiates these failed and unethical policies, I can not vote for her. Among the other candidates running, surely there is one who is more solidly conservative.
