Running for La Crosse County Board in District 20
Today I announced my candidacy for the La Crosse County Board of Supervisors, seeking to represent District 20, which includes portions of Holmen and the Town of Onalaska. My campaign is centered on protecting taxpayers by refocusing county government on its core responsibilities: roads, public safety, and infrastructure
My decision to run followed a review of county data and strategic priorities, which I believe shows a drift away from essential services. County government should prioritize keeping residents safe and maintaining critical infrastructure before expanding into nonessential or divisive initiatives.
Citing publicly available crime statistics from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, I found disturbing increases in violent crime as evidence that county leadership has lost focus. According to the data available online from the DOJ, aggravated assaults in La Crosse County have increased by 44 percent, while reported rapes are up 69 percent. Those figures are unacceptable and they underscore the need for renewed attention to public safety.
I am also going to emphasize fiscal discipline as a central theme of this campaign. A tighter focus on core services would help reduce the cost of government, pay down county debt more quickly, and ease the property tax burden on families and small businesses. Disciplined local government creates an environment where private-sector growth can expand the tax base without additional strain on taxpayers.
Another major plank of my platform is opposition to Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging (DIEB) initiatives included in the county’s strategic plan. Such policies are divisive and inconsistent with the nonpartisan role of county government. If elected, I will work to remove those initiatives and redirect county efforts toward broadly supported goals such as safer communities, improved roads, and expanded rural broadband access.
This campaign is ultimately about restoring accountability and common sense at the county level. I ask all District 20 voters to support my election so we can help refocus county government on what residents expect and deserve from local leadership.
I'll bring more than 30 years of experience in the information technology field and my knowledge of how to analyze complex problems, build effective teams, and deliver practical solutions to the La Crosse County Government. Now is the time for a better way forward!
