Report: How Parents Successfully Pass Down Their Faith
Communio and Institute for Family Studies recently released a joint report showing how faith is passed down between generations. Researchers found four core factors that contribute most to children adopting their parents’ faith: faith practiced during childhood, quality parent-child relationships, a quality marriage between parents, and regular church attendance. The report suggests that parents must make faith a regular part of family life and conversation.
This report gives excellent recommendations for parents and churches to better reach the hearts of the next generation. Parents often have the biggest influence on their child’s life, so parents must prioritize faith in the home, in both their words and actions, to successfully pass down their beliefs to their children.
