Ready to Lead a Strong Republican Majority
After our most challenging election cycle yet, Republicans have secured a 54 seat majority in the Wisconsin State Assembly. I couldn’t be more pleased with the hard work of our Republican caucus members to achieve this result. While Governor Evers’ gerrymandered maps cost us a few seats, our majority will allow us to hold the line on his extreme agenda and continue to advocate for conservative government that works for the citizens of Wisconsin.
Last week, the caucus met for the first time as representatives-elect to choose our leadership team. I was honored to once again be elected as Speaker. I look forward to a productive legislative session where I will fight for our priorities that include a historic middle class tax cut and making retirement tax-free for our seniors. I also plan to introduce a constitutional amendment to protect voter ID in Wisconsin and fight to protect women’s sports and keep biological males out of women’s bathrooms and locker rooms. Finally, we must follow the lead of the newly created Federal Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to find examples of waste and abuse in our state and make sure your tax dollars are not being wasted on unnecessary bureaucracy.
Once again, I thank you for your support. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office with your ideas on how we can make government work better.
