Yesterday, in the wake of the of the Water Street shooting last Friday in Milwaukee, I held a press conference, and called on Governor Evers to immediately direct ARPA funds to the Milwaukee Police to address public safety concerns, because if we protect Milwaukee, we protect all of Wisconsin.

I also called for the Office of the Attorney General to have original jurisdiction over Milwaukee and said that we need to ensure that frontline prosecutors are adequately paid.

As your Attorney General, I will uphold the rule of law and make public safety my top priority.

Representatives from the Milwaukee Police Association and the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police joined me yesterday for the press conference because they know that Tony Evers has failed to address rising crime in Milwaukee and Josh Kaul as been in lock step with him every step of the way.
