Thursday's session day was focused on election integrity.

Assembly Republicans continue to bring forth good policy to improve our elections, policies that should be bipartisan, as voting is a constitutional right that we all must protect no matter what party. However, Governor Evers continues to stand in the way of election reform. He has vetoed all common-sense election reform bills in previous sessions, but it's my hope he will finally listen to the people and make these improvements to our elections.

The comprehensive package of election bills includes:

• Three constitutional amendments will put election reforms on the ballot for the people of Wisconsin to decide
• Requiring central count facilities to begin processing, not tabulating, absentee ballots early to eliminate late-night ballot dumps
• Requiring all indefinitely confined voters to provide identification to receive their ballot.
• Prohibiting ballot curing by election officials and requiring that only the voter or their witness can make changes to a ballot
• Implementing text message notification when an absentee ballot is requested and returned
• Prohibiting mass closures of polling places as happened in Milwaukee in 2020
• Implementing additional checks to prevent non-citizens from voting
• Protecting the integrity of ballots cast by seniors and those in assisted living facilities
• Affordable access to the state voter list
