Keeping the Government Open

Yesterday, the House passed a short-term stop-gap measure that will keep the government open, pay our troops, and fully fund disaster relief. We need to responsibly fund our government while supporting the priorities of our constituents.

Over the next 45 days, I will work with any of my colleagues who are willing to negotiate in good faith, and I will continue to hold any Democrat or Republican individually accountable if they hold our government hostage for appearances on cable news. You can read my full press release on the vote here.

We have been on a drunken spending spree for many years, and our social programs have encouraged so many to vote for more free money extorted from our children at a very unsustainable rate. We are giving into today's laziness and selfishness, and it will cost our grandchildren the life that we had given to us. Those receiving this easy money are enjoying it and are leaches.

All we had to do was work hard, live within our means, have an average IQ and we had the American dream. Yes, I know that years ago life was a struggle, but very few minded the hard work, the success they found was very rewarding, and they did not have to rely on others or the government, a wonderful life!

To Tom BIce: Indeed, we are stealing from our children and grandchildren by borrowing more money than can ever be paid back

Here is some advice on compromise: THere are agencies within the FEDGOV that should not even exist. The left and unfortunately members of the GOP ask for more than crurrent spending, more than they expect to get, and expect you to vote in favor of a smaller increase. EG> DEPT OF ED, DEPT OF AG, DEPT OF ENERGY, all should not exist. Any increase in such agencies is NOT a compromise, but a sellout. A compromise would be something between existing spending, and ZERO, which is what such agencies should get.
