I will again run for the State Assembly in the Coulee Region’s 94th District.

As the Republican nominee in 2022 against Steve Doyle, we came up just short in the closest election for the seat in nearly 30 years.

As people look at our country and our politics today, they wonder ‘How did we get here?’ While our politicians fight, our families are hurting under a struggling economy and inflation that just keeps driving up the price of everything. It is sad, but the saying ‘The most expensive vehicle to drive in Wisconsin is the grocery cart,’ is a harsh reality for too many people.

My first time running for Assembly two years ago resulted in the closest election since the mid-90’s, despite Doyle’s lifetime in politics.

Most of our elected leaders are at or well past retirement age. This election marks the 40th year since Steve Doyle first started running for office in 1984. Our current representative has been in politics since before many of us were born, and it is hard to say things have gotten better while he has been there. It is time for the next generation to accept the challenge to step up and lead.

In my day job, I'm the Executive Director of the Wisconsin Conservative Energy Forum www.wiscef.org, a non-profit vehicle for individuals, organizations, and businesses to join the conservative conversation about Wisconsin’s energy future and develop “Wisconsin-grown” clean energy resources.

With the challenges before us, this is going to be one of the most important elections in our lifetime. I’m looking forward to going to each of our communities again to hear from our friends and neighbors about the issues that are important to them.

Under Governor Evers’ new legislative maps, La Crosse County has been divided between three legislative districts. The 94th Assembly District now includes Onalaska, Holmen, West Salem, the towns of Farmington, Hamilton, Holland, Medary, and a small section on the north side of La Crosse. Also included for the first time is a portion of Trempealeau County, including Galesville, Ettrick and the surrounding townships of Caledonia, Ettrick, and Gale. No longer included in the 94th are the villages of Bangor and Rockland, and the towns of Bangor, Barre, Burns, Greenfield, Shelby, and Washington.

Early voting in the election begins on October 21st.
