It All Comes Down to This
Since December when I prayerfully made the decision to run for La Crosse County Board in District 20 I have worked very hard to do the 'grunt' work that is necessary to build momentum. As of this article, I have knocked on over 1000 doors and personally spoken with hundreds of voters. I feel very blessed to report to you today that this campaign has exceeded all the goals that we set out to achieve and now we are well positioned to achieve the most important goal: winning the election.
I’m running to be a fresh voice on the La Crosse County Board. I’m writing today to share why I believe it’s the right time for us to improve the condition of our County, and why we need someone new to do it.
But first, I have some easy questions for you:
Do you like driving on poor roads?
Do you like seeing your property taxes increase year after year?
Do you like divisiveness and the pursuit of petty political agendas?
Of course not. None of us do. And that is why I made the decision to run to serve you on the La Crosse County Board, because my opponent has made the WRONG decisions about all those issues. Here are just a few examples:
- He promised to focus on better roads, yet we still have over 100 miles of roadway listed in poor condition. In fact, La Crosse County ranks 6th out of 72 in the state for sales tax revenues, yet our infrastructure investments rate 3rd from the bottom compared to similarly-sized counties. Even further, he voted to defund our road budget by $1 million just last Fall.
- He promised to hold the line on property taxes. Are your taxes up or down? I’m holding my last bill in my hand, and the county portion went up 3.4% I bet yours went up, too.
- He secretly supports a partisan and divisive approach to leadership. Just this winter he replied to a candidate survey in this way:
“Although the County Board is non-partisan, we are political. We have been able to serve as progressive leaders over the past two decades and other counties look to us for progressive leadership. I’m proud to be a part of that.”
- He supports a “Civilian Review Board” to persecute law enforcement officers and more deeply divide our communities and worsen law enforcement recruitment making our communities LESS safe.
He is not the same person who was first elected to this position in the 1980’s. As you can see from his own statement above, he has become an ultra-partisan politician who has sadly lost touch with the needs of our district. And lately he has even started skipping county board meetings and conveniently missing key votes on the most important issues of our day.
I know I’m not the first person to declare that “if nothing changes, then nothing will change.”
County leaders, like my opponent, have proven that they simply do not have what it takes to do the right thing and get positive results. They pay lip service to the important issues, but their voting record reveals their true intentions.
The only way to correct the course the county is on, is to elect new leaders to the County Board in the Spring election on April 2nd.
We desperately need to reset the priorities and focus resources on the basics: Roads, Safety, Infrastructure then return the savings to taxpayers like you. This is what I will do when elected. I have spent the last 25 years leading teams of software engineers to produce results. I will bring that same professional discipline to the County Board.
It’s not too late to change our trajectory, but nothing will change if my opponent returns to the same post where he has been for the past 38 years. He’s been there since the 1980’s and what does he have to show for it? Are your property taxes going up or down? Are the roads getting better or worse? Is there more or less crime in the region? Are people more united or divided?
I have looked at the numbers, and we CAN defeat his Madison-powered machine but ONLY if you cast your vote for Chris Muller in this election.
Please visit wi.bankyourvote.com and begin the voting process now.
I truly look forward to earning your vote so call me at 608.792.1867 if you want to discuss ways we can make life in La Crosse County even better.
Take care and God bless,
Chris Muller

Good luck Chris
Being proud to be part of Progressive Leadership 40 years ago would have been a great thing. Nowadays that is code for Marxism and socialism. You can see what has happened in LaCrosse County, they extort more money from the productive people and put it into a sinkhole of government-failed ideas.

For all you, "I'm starting to pay attention to elections now" and may not know what La Crosse County District you are in, I will let you know that Chris is in the 20th District which is the much of the Village of Holmen and Town of Onalaska areas. Check to find out if you're in the 20th and vote for Chris.
Those of you who may be "starting to pay attention to elections now" in other areas, please know that most of La Crosse County Board members have challengers for changing the current make up of the Board.
