Honoring Our Foundation

The passing of Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, was announced recently. During his over 40-year ministry, Dr. Dobson’s work at Focus on the Family included establishing Focus on the Family Action, which was our national partner and is now a separate organization, Family Policy Alliance. This laid the foundation for a network of Christ-centered organizations, including Wisconsin Family Council. His legacy lives on through these ministries in 39 other states. Together we strive to create a nation where God is honored, life is cherished, families thrive, and religious freedom flourishes.

I am honored to announce that in partnership with Family Policy Alliance, Wisconsin Family Council is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with America Reads the Bible from April 18-25, 2026. Held at the Museum of the Bible in the heart of Washington D.C., the Bible will be read aloud from Genesis 1 to Revelation 21. Our goal is to encourage Christians from across the nation to join us via live-stream and broadcast as we reaffirm our biblical roots and refocus our attention on God.

refocus our attention on God

Sadly, many Americans have forgotten--and our younger generations are not consistently taught--the biblical principles upon which our nation was founded. A 2024 national survey from the Cato Institute found that only 39% of Gen Z are grateful for America and only 38% believe the Constitution is important. These statistics indicate an overwhelming need to educate the younger generations about the founding of our nation.

America Reads the Bible is an opportunity to help make Americans, both young and old, aware of the deep impact Scripture has had on our nation’s past, and the power it holds to shape our future.

I hope you will join us this April, as America Reads the Bible.

“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” Isaiah 40:8

As a young parent, I went to watch a video presentation of him speaking at our church in Trempealeau. He was wonderful, he had phenomenal insight, and during his career made the world a far better place.
