Election Integrity Survey 2023 (Straw Poll) Interim Report October 2023
The following is a summary report on the 2023 Election Integrity Survey (Straw Poll). This survey is sponsored by the Republican Party of Monroe County, Wisconsin. The survey was created as a means of keeping the subject of election integrity at the forefront of issues to be considered by prospective 2024 presidential election voters. It is also a means of informing government legislators and officials of the will of respondents (who are Wisconsin constituents) on this most important matter.
This straw poll was first released on June 16, at the 2023 Republican Pary of Wisconsin State Convention in Lacrosse, WI. So far there have been 103 respondents from 31 different Wisconsin counties. Most of the respondents to date were convention attendees.
In Summary, for the survey respondents, election integrity and election reform is the single most important voting issue for more than 70% of them. Further, more than three quarters of respondents (76.7%) are willing to support a state government shutdown to attempt to force the governor to sign into law election reforms passed by the state legislature (see question 9).
- Question one dealt with the importance of election integrity; 70% of respondents rated it as having the highest priority possible (10 out of 10) of any issue; 6.8% of respondents gave it (9 out of 10) priority; 7.6% of respondents gave it a (8 out of 10) priority.
- Question two asked if the respondent thought that election integrity issues were the major factor in Donald Trump losing in 2020; 72.8% responded with “most definitely” and another 9.7% responding with “probably”.
- Question three asked if the respondent thought that election integrity issues were the major factor in Tim Michels and Daniel Kelly losing in 2022; 40.2% responded with “most definitely”, and another 16.7% responded with “probably”.
- Question four disappeared from the original survey version. I am not sure how that happened. Here is the original question 4: Do you think enough progress has been made on election integrity issues so as they won’t affect the 2024 election the same way they did in 2020? ____YES ____NO ____UNSURE
- Question five asked if the respondent thought that the voting machines used in Wisconsin are a guaranteed safe and effective means of recording and tallying vote counts; 46.7% responded with “absolutely not”, and another 19.4% responding with “probably not”.
- Question six asked if the respondent thought state and federal Republican leadership should have attempted to decertify elections where election integrity issues were the apparent major factor in the Democrat winning office; 81%% responded with “YES”,
- Question seven was about the Wisconsin Election Commission (WEC). Respondents were asked if the Wisconsin State Legislature should now dissolve and defund WEC; 68.6% responded with “most definitely”, and another 15.7% responding with “probably”.
- Question eight asked if the respondent thought that non(U.S.)citizens should be allowed to vote in Wisconsin elections; 100% responded with “NO”.
- Question nine asked if the respondent if as a Wisconsin resident, they are willing for the state government to be partially shutdown (as leverage) to force the governor into signing election-integrity reform bills into law; 76.7% responded with “YES”.
- Question ten asked if the respondent thought that the University of Wisconsin (administration) should be allowed to utilize tax-payer dollars in promoting partisan get-out-the-vote campaigns at all its campuses; 96% responded with “NO”.
- Question eleven asked if the 2024 Presidential GOP Primary Election were tomorrow, who would they be voting for; 65.3% responded with “Donald Trump”, 20.8% responded with “Ron DeSantis”, and all the other ten listed candidates were in the low single digit percentages.
- Question twelve asked who the respondent would pick to be their top Wisconsin GOP choice to run against Democrat Tammy Baldwin for Wisconsin's U.S. Senate seat in 2024; respondents listed 31 different potential candidates with no single individual getting more than 6 total votes.
The age distribution of respondents was: (5%, 20-29 years old); (5.9%, 30-39 years old); (10.9%, 40-49 years old); (20.8%, 50-59 years old); (31.7%, 60-69 years old); (25.7%, 70-79 years old).

This poll was consitent with my preferences.
If Trump gets elected, I hope we can move past the constant harassment against him. I also would like to see Kevin Nicholson for senate.
