DHS Willfully Refused to Enforce Immigration Laws
For the last three years, Secretary Mayorkas, the head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), has willfully refused to enforce federal immigration laws, abused his parole authority, repeatedly lied to Congress, and unleashed millions of illegal aliens and deadly drugs into our communities.
I have been extremely critical of him from the beginning when the Biden administration paused deportations, stopped border wall construction, and ended Remain in Mexico on their first day in office.
Then on August 17, 2021, Secretary Mayorkas issued a memo that included an expansion of alternatives to detention, which instituted a “catch and release” policy for millions of illegal border crossers. This has resulted in “above 85%” of the illegal immigrants apprehended at the southern border being released into the United States.
No one who took an oath of office to protect the homeland of our country should ever implement a mass catch-and-release scheme where illegal aliens have been dumped into American neighborhoods with no court dates or monitoring.
This is a clear violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act, and it is disrespectful to the millions of legal immigrants who followed our laws and came here the right way.
When called before Congress to tell the truth, Secretary Mayorkas repeatedly lied and breached public trust by claiming, “The border is secure,” despite the Border Patrol Chief saying it is not.
He also lied to Congress about his abuse of so-called parole, which is supposed to be used only on a limited, case-by-case basis to admit individual aliens based on their unique circumstances. You can watch over a minute of his lies by clicking here.
Paroling over a million people into our country on a categorical basis is not “limited” or “a case-by-case basis” and “for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.”
As a result of these actions, the House voted to impeach Secretary Mayorkas this week. You can view the vote here.
I did not take this impeachment vote lightly, but it’s time to put the safety of our citizens first and hold Secretary Mayorkas accountable for his failures.

Sure he did what he was told to do, by Biden
But he is still 100 percent at fault, and the cost and destruction to America is permanent.
