Banning Insider Trading in Congress

Public service isn’t meant to be a get-rich-quick scheme. I was sent to Washington, D.C. to fight for the people of northern and western Wisconsin, not line my own pockets. I believe in the importance of trust and transparency between voters and their elected officials. That is why I have never traded stocks while serving in Congress, and why I am an original cosponsor of Representative Bryan Steil’s Stop Insider Trading Act.

This legislation will ban Members of Congress, as well as their spouses and dependent children, from buying new stocks and strengthen the disclosure requirements for stock sales.
