Why Your Support Matters

Remember: Wisconsin’s Act 10, officially known as the 2011 Wisconsin Act 10 or the Wisconsin Budget Repair Bill? If Judge Lazar is not elected, I guarantee Act 10 is a goner.

What is Act 10? The bill was introduced by Governor Scott Walker in response to the state budget deficit. When was the last time we heard of a Budget Deficit in Wisconsin? Democrats are working overtime trying to spend our Budget Surplus.

13 Rules for Rationals

On and off this week, I have been thinking about the differences between the 59-day temper tantrums of the Occupy Wall Street “protests” back in 2011 and what we are witnessing on the Minneapolis streets today, and it struck me how much more aggressively “Alinsky” they have become. Left-wing activist Saul Alinsky published 13 Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals in 1971. It was an instruction manual for “community organizers” conceived amid the political turbulence of the late 1960s and early 1970s, addressing a new generation of activists.

The SAVE America Act

83% of Americans support requiring photo ID to vote in our elections. Yet our neighboring states like Illinois and Minnesota still do not require identification at the polls.

When I served in the Wisconsin State Legislature, we passed a photo ID requirement. Liberal pundits warned it would disenfranchise voters and suppress turnout. The opposite happened, and participation increased.

Only American citizens should vote in American elections. That is not controversial. It is common sense.

Fraud Waiting to Happen

On January 28 Wisconsin voters scored a big win in the epic battle for verifiability of our election results. “Verifiable” means every vote cast can be tied to the name of an eligible voter. President Trump signaled he has Wisconsin in his sights in the fight for election integrity with a tweet on Truth Social about the more than 4 million ineligible voters who are maintained by the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) on the Registered Voter List. We have every reason to be optimistic Trump is not going to let this issue go; and having him as an ally in the fight is as good as it gets.

Listening to Our Volunteers

I recently hosted a series of Rural EMS Summits for our local EMS and fire departments. Approximately 50 people, largely volunteers, representing more than 20 different departments attended. The concerns raised at these sessions were much more consistent across geography than at my general listening sessions. Many of the concerns shared in Crawford County were the same as those raised in Green County.
