Tour of Mill Site and Power Company
Earlier this week, I was invited to take a tour of both the former Wisconsin Rapids Paper Mill site and the Consolidated Water Power Company.
The mill property, previously owned by Billerud and sold to the Capital Recovery Group in May of 2024, is actively being marketed to prospective industrial users.
Some sections of the parcel have already been sold, and several parties have evaluated the site for industrial development, including a data center to support AI applications.
During the tour, I was informed that a key component of the property’s future success is its access to reliable industrial power from the nearby Consolidated Water Power Company.
Revitalizing the former mill presents Wisconsin Rapids and the surrounding areas with a significant opportunity to attract new industries, foster innovation and create high-quality jobs.
I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this site that has been so important to our community and local economy.
