Let me repeat that title because it is so true: The evidence is overwhelming: government-run healthcare is a total disaster every time it is tried. The VA system, Obamacare, Medicare, England's single-payer system, all are burdened with the weight and corruption that naturally results when politicians and bureaucrats are involved. It saddens me that there are still some who believe that more government corruption is the answer.
The answer is to unplug government control. With government out of the way health insurance companies will be free to create plans and products that consumers want at prices that they can afford. Just unleash the innovative spirit of the American people! If today's insurance companies won't do the job then some other clever American would fill the gap with their own ideas. That kind of competition will begin a chain reaction of even more companies creating products that people want and can afford.
But none of that innovative thinking will ever occur so long as government agencies can regulate and stifle it.
I miss America.
